Dr. Erik Henze
Dr. Erik Henze grew up in Hoover, Alabama, where his dream of becoming a veterinarian began at a young age. He went on to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where he earned his degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. While at UAB, he also showcased his competitive spirit on the soccer field as a collegiate athlete. Dr. Henze then pursued his veterinary degree at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he built a strong foundation in both medicine and surgery.
Professionally, Dr. Henze has a special interest in internal medicine and surgery, finding great reward in diagnosing complex cases and helping pets return to health. At the same time, he never passes up the opportunity to welcome new puppies and kittens into the clinic—those first visits are among his favorites.
Before joining Kentucky Veterinary Practice Group, Dr. Henze practiced in Richmond, Kentucky, where he gained valuable experience caring for a wide range of patients.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Henze enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling to new destinations, and cheering on his alma maters, the UAB Blazers and the Auburn Tigers. His love for exploration fuels his dream of visiting all seven continents. When not working or traveling, he can often be found hiking and camping with his fiancée, Taylor, and his two dogs, Rooney & Millie.
Dr. Henze looks forward to building lasting relationships with his patients and their families, and he is excited to bring compassionate, personalized veterinary care to the communities served by Kentucky Veterinary Practice Group.
